Hello all, this seems trivial, but I need help. I have connected my Acorn6 CNC12 Router V5.08 to my PLCEXP1616 Either 1616 with its own 24V power
supply that came with it and the network switch with its own 5V power supply, and for some reason the wizard is unable to auto detect it. Power is connected, and Ethernet cables are all connected. Acorn6 is also fully online. I pinged Acorn at address 10.160.41.2 and the Either 1616 at 10.168.41.3, and I had zero loss. I don't know what else to do. Not input was connected to Either 1616.

You cannot and must not restore reports unless the same CNC12 version is used.

To rectify, do a clean install install with the latest CNC12 v5.1 and enter all Wizard parameters by hand. Do NOT restore from old reports

Hello, and thanks for replying to my post. Much appreciated! I have performed a fresh install of CNC12 v5.1 as suggested, and I arrived at the same point as before.

CNC12 v5.1. does not auto-detect the 1616 board. I am using the provided TP-Link model # TL-SG105 switch with the power cord and the PLCEXP1616 with its 24v power supply.

I connected the shielded Ethernet cord from my PC to the switch on Port 1, an Ethernet cable from Switch Port 2 to Acornsix, and an Ethernet cable from PLCEXP1616 to Port 3 on the switch.

The loop prevention on-off switch is set to the "ON" position. All Ethernet cables are shielded. A fresh report is provided below!

Does AcornSix use Ether1616 and an ethernet link? Or does it use PLCEXP1616 and SCOUT?

I thought so also, it uses the PLCEXP1616, no?

The confusing part is he calls out the Ehter1616 AND the PLCEXP1616 in his original post so I'm not sure which one he has.

Is uses the Either1616 on the board it says ETH1616 so I suppose it’s the Either 1616.
On the wizard it says PLECXP1616.

That is the Ether1616 board in your photo but the Acorn Six uses the PLCEXP1616. The PLCEXP1616 and the Ether616 are two different animals. You have the wrong expansion board.

Wow! Guess I’ll have to wait till I get some money to get the right board.. I have the habit of buying things and wait 20 yrs later to use it. I guess I have past my return or exchanged period . I’ll have to see if that’s the case

Reach out to Centroid and see if they'll honor a swap or something else to get you the board you need. Here's a link to the PLCEXP1616 expansion card for the AcornSix.

I guess my next question is what are you building that requires more than 16 inputs and 16 outputs that the AcornSix already has? It must be one heck of a machine. Can wait to see this build thread.
