If you had included a report, we could check that the plc message file matched the plc file that was loaded. These undefined messages usually occur because the PLC file and the message file are from different revisions or configurations.

[Here is the report.zip

For clarification this was a fresh install from the latest CNC12 V5.10 install shield on a new PC. Neither the PLC nor the message file have been edited, o it looks like an error in the install shield.

According to the report_*.txt file, that is v5.08, not v5.10.

It appears that your plcmsg.txt file is missing altogether.

Where do I get a copy of the file then? As I said this was a clean install in January so I would expect it just to work. If I update to the latest how do I keep all my settings?

The easiest way is to do a re-install carefully following these instructions: https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... ctions.pdf

Or, since the exe installer is just a Zip file, you can open it with something like 7Zip, and extract the plc message file from the same subdirectory as the PLC file you originally selected.

The "Undefined PLC Message" is due to a missing file that wasn't installed when you selected "Install - and keep existing machine configuration".

Since you have setup your machine configuration already, make a report of your current settings..(which you've already done).

Now do a fresh install and this time when installing the plc program, choose "Install - and overwrite existing machine configuration".

After the installation is complete, restore the report you made and let it overwrite files.

If you are going to restore the report you posted, make sure you re-install 5.08 and not 5.1.
