Did some more experimentation. If I press "Cycle Start" (the green button on the VCP), the output "AxisBreakRelease" switches to on, and then the e-stop or rest will switch back to off. But first one has to start the cycle; won't work without it. Will be interesting to see how this works in practice as I am used to turning the spindle axis for example when plugging the wire into the KP-3 probe. Not a big deal, will get used to it.

As I mentioned, by design, the control will not turn on the output until that axis is commanded to move. Jogging, homing (my guess is you pressed cycle start to home the machine?) MDI
Fault, VCP Reset or Estop will turn off the output and it will not turn back on until CNC12 is in the ready state and that axis is commanded to move again.

So, is your machine behaving this way?
Marty

Please post a fresh report and I will load it on my bench test rig.
PLEASE post a screen shot of your diagnostics page as well (Alt i)

Here are the attachments. Thank you for looking into this. The output is OUTPUT2.
I loaded your report on my bench test rig.
Output 2 axis3brakerelease works as expected and does go off when pressing VCP Reset.

Yes, the machine behaves as indicated. I did not know that I should press the Cycle Start button to energize (=release) the brakes. So everything works as intended. Thank you for the guidance and clarification.
