I need instructions.
When I tried x jog driver faulted when I wired it as advertised.

Are your steppers 8 wire?
If so how do you have them wired. You must choose the one that only draws 3amps. Your stepper drivers aren't strong enough to drive them any other way.

Wire your motor as per this diagram: It even shows the A/B, +/-

Yes my steppers are 8 wire.
And were wired to your diagram about two years ago.

Was this router running fine under Mach3 via parallel port? If so what breakout board were you using.(make and model please)

Your video shows the router moving albeit jerky. Is that running under Acorn?

Where are you located?

On page 8 of this thread, the photo of the driver is a CW230. According to the data sheet for the CW230, the maximum step rate is 50,000 pulses per second. Parameter 968 is where you set the maximum step rate. Franco posted a chart showing various settings for parameter 968 where 12 = 100,000, 30=40,000, 60=20,000. Try setting parameter 968 to 30 to reduce the pulse rate to 40,000. As an example, the DW542 stepper drivers that I have on my bench will not move the motors when I use Wizard to set the frequency to 400K but they work fine when I use Wizard to set the frequency to 200K. If I needed to set the frequency to less than 200K, I would have to change parameter 968 AFTER saving the Wizard settings. (If I understand things correctly, Wizard will overwrite parameter 968 each time you save the Wizard settings. You will need to change parameter 968 after you use Wizard to modify other settings.)

Great observation Richards!
You are correct, if you change a parameter and then use the Wizard, it will be overwritten.

Yes..+1 to Marty's comment. Nice catch Mike! I forgot about how slow a pulse rate is output by the Mach controller and those inexpensive drives.

I was using USB port and ran smoothly in Mach 3

I have no idea on setting parameter 968 (Ken)
