Re: NEW BUILD! Chinese CNC 1313 replacing mach3
Yet another mistake! I accidentally purchased the "mill" license instead of the router license....

Re: NEW BUILD! Chinese CNC 1313 replacing mach3
Hey fellas, I'm trying utilize cnc12mill while the office figures out what i need to do. I've got everything setup, everything homes properly, but when i try to lower the z it says "z axis travel exceeded." I looked again and the setting for z travel + limit is 6. I previously changed the limit to 7, but it did not stick. 'm sure its something simple, here is the report.
Thanks again!
Shane.
Thanks again!
Shane.

Re: NEW BUILD! Chinese CNC 1313 replacing mach3
Z "down" is negative. If your machine homes with the head all the way up, you are at max Z+, so your Z+ limit is 0, and your Z- limit is your max travel. You have a Z- limit of 0, so you will not be able to lower the head from the home position without hitting your travel limit.
Cheers,
Tom

Thank you for the reply!
I tried that, but i keep getting an error saying "Value must less than equal to zero." No, thats not a typo, thats what the message says.

Z axis travel limits:
Travel limit (+) should be 0
Travel limit (-) should be -6 (it needs to be a negative number)
Travel limit (+) should be 0
Travel limit (-) should be -6 (it needs to be a negative number)

Do you know where else you could have found this into? Yup, you guessed it, in the install manual, just sayin'

The info is on page 80 in case you were curious.

At least we're finally getting to the root of the problem, this clears up a lot of questions I had.Asdoyle1221 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 5:18 pm I don't know how to read, do to a lack of proper education.
