Solder the shield drain wire (bare strand) to the metal shell.
Thank you sir!

Right in the manual:
The other image shows the shield to the shell not to pin #1:

Right. Saw that, and got confused. The soldering to the body of the connector is obvious. The drawing looks like it goes to socket 1.
Thanks for the clarification!

I spent the weekend fabricating my encoder cables and was able to spend some time getting the ALLIN1 ready for bench testing. Also got a lot of the cabinet cleaned out. Also fabricated a mount for the console on the existing "arm".
I have to say that I was expecting the instructions to be more step by step. I still haven't figured out which end of the umbilical cord goes to the console, which goes to the ALLIN1, and exactly what goes where.
I bought the console with the software and windows preinstalled. I thought it came with an MPG, based on the picture in the "catalog". Not the case, but I do have a separate MPG that I bought for another application and never installed. How difficult will that be to hook up?
Initial power on went as expected. All LEDs indicating properly and "4." showing on LED1 (indicating no limit switches hooked up yet). I shut the limit switches SW4 to off and the LED indicated "1".
Console still not hooked up yet, still working on understanding what goes where first.

Please post a picture of the umbilical cable. You didn't do that. We can help
The only thing in the console is the monitor, PC, Estop button, Jog panel and of course power connectors.
We can help with that.
Do you have the MPG bulk head connector on the side of the cabinet? Not just any MPG will work. Centroid's MPG is designed to work with it.
Are you suggesting you wanted instructions on the console and the cable assembly? Would a picture have done well pointing out the cables? Maybe we can ask Centroid to do something to clarify things.
I'm sure you have the All in One Installation Guide, the Mill schematic, and at least my video series on an All In One DC Installation on a knee mill?

If you look at the "OPERATOR'S PANEL" and "MPG" headers on the bottom left of the Allin1DC unit, and look at your console cable bundle for matching plugs, then it will be clear which end is which.
Also, the emergency stop cable has two 2-pin female Molex plugs at the console end, and a 4-position Mini-Fit Jr. at the cabinet end.
The AC power cord has a female connector (judged from the metal contacts, not the plastic housing) at the console end, and a male connector at the cabinet end. You will probably cut off the latter and just connect it to your 120VAC distribution blocks.

It may be a couple of days before I can get more pictures. I took the touch screen off (seemed to be the only access inside the console) and didn't see anything obvious as far as connections.

I do believe that there is an MPG bulkhead connector in the wire loom, but not certain. I contacted sales this morning, just mentioning a few things and he supplied me with a drawing indicating connections. Hadn't seen that in any videos or the instruction manual. A picture and description would have been helpful as the diagram I was sent is still not crystal clear to my "DIY" level brain (but still better than what I started with).

Yes, to all three, but some things are not crystal clear. Probably just my lack of skills in this area. I'm used to Heath Kit style step by step instructions when it comes to electronics.

Thank you for your response! There are a bunch of wires with no connectors on them which led to my confusion. I will see how far I can get with your advice and still post some pics of the umbilical cable.

I just found Marty's videos of the preliminary wiring. Not sure how I missed that.
