Marty I tried using the screw terminals along with connecting 5v DC to the power supply and it didn't fix the issue. Still missing steps. Hoping using the step and dir from the DB25 resolves the issue! Will I need to change anything in the wizard when using the db25 on the acorn? Also will all other drive and plc settings stay the same?

Quick question, I want to make the VCP load to the left side of the main screen when CNC12 starts. Right now its on the right side as default. Does anybody know how this is done?

Thanks, justin

You need to change from Header to DB25 in the DB25 screen
Don't mess with VCP right now...get your machine running.
My hunch however is that it is fixed that way because CNC12 is programmed to occupy the left side of the screen.
Maybe Centroid will answer.

I finally got my db25 breakout board in the mail so I spent Sunday getting it wired up and tested. I now have my green and blue step and dir wires running to the db25 on the acorn. I could not get the motors to turn and after playing around with the settings in the wizard I changed my settings from db25 step and dir back to screw terminal and low and behold it worked like a charm. I’m thinking that because enable is still going to the screw terminals it still needs to be set to screw terminal in the wizard. Did some basic testing and using a dial indicator running the axis around and it went back to its initial position like it’s supposed to.

Still no fix for moving the vcp to the left side of the screen just yet.

I was hoping somebody out there could help explain how the servo drive gearing works. I’ve read through forums and still don’t quit understand it. I have my drives set to 2000 and wizard set to 8000 but I don’t really understand why. I see other people use different numbers.
Thanks, Justin

When you move from Header to screw terminals the signals are inverted. You go into the advanced tab to invert.
Don't hold your breath on moving VCP to the left side. I'm pretty sure the Centroid CNC12 screen is fixed where it is.

Continued luck on your project.
