I'm not getting rpm readout when I turn my spindle. I'm guessing I've got something misconfigured.

My encoder is hooked up and it reads counts on the pid screen and has no faults. But it just isn't showing any rpm when I turn the spindle by hand or when i manually turn vfd on.

Any guesses on what i missed?

What do you have in Parameters 34 & 35?
Cheers,

Sigh, I really need to get in the habit of posting my report files.

Parameter 34 is set to 4096
Parameter 35 is set to 6

Those parameters are set correctly for a 1024 line encoder on ENC6. Do you see a "s" next to axis 6 on the Mach./Motor screen?

I do have the encoder on encoder input 6 and it is a 1024 line encoder.

I do indeed see an S next axis 6 on the mach/motor screen. Note There I haven't designated that axis. (As in its still labeled N) Where as X and Z are labeled all other axises are still labeled N including axis 6. (Not really using it as an axis so I assumed that was correct).

I'll get a report file loaded tonight when I get home.

Just read the description of Parameter 78 (In the centroid lathe manual). That looks exactly correct.

BTW I have screen shots of my parameters on my phone and that parameter is set to 0 right now.

I think I would have picked up on this if I was more familiar with the parameters. I should take some time and just read through all the parameters in the lathe manual. I think that would reduce some of my confusion.

Thank for the help!

If I was going to attempt to enable rigid tapping with this machine would it make sense to start with the rigid tap document for the acorn board?

viewtopic.php?f=63&t=1708&p=11184&hilit ... gid#p11184

Obviously some of the menu options aren't what I would use in the oak.

Guess I'm looking for a primer if its out there. If not I'll just give it a go and see how far I can make it. Hopefully I can get that functional this weekend.

Currently running in demo mode so I think I should be able to at least try out rigid tapping for the time being.

Good evening All,

Was wondering if anyone had some input on running finish passes on a profile cut after running additional code.

What i'm looking to do is run a profile such as a thread od with undercuts etc, and then thread it and after threading go back and run a finish pass on the profile cut to clean up the threads. I could do this by copy and pasting the whole profile back in, but figure I should be able to just add a second finish pass after the thread. As far as I can tell there isn't an easy way to do this.

Any suggestions?

Thank you
