M3_2.mac or M203.mac could work to keep old programs compatible.

I would probably go for the underscore standing in for the decimal: "mfunc3_2.mac".

That way it does not stand in the way of future expansion to 3-digit user-defined custom M functions.

Those codes look great. And I see you say, "Proposed Approach." I would only assume that is the future for AcornSIx because as now those M codes are not listed in the CNC12 Manual.

But can't you create those codes with the current version of CNC12 in the M94 M95 commands? Is that what your suggesting to do? Or is this AcornSix future?

I would assume you would need the second analog output to make it work if you created your own M94 M95 commands?

From the manual:

There are 128 user definable system variable bits that can be used to communicate with the PLC. M94 and
M95 are used to request those system variable bits to turn on or off respectively. Requests 1-128 are
mapped to the PLC as system variables SV M94 M95 1 through SV M94 M95 128

Hello
short example

A year ago I repaired an Emco 332.
This machine has 3 spindles and is controlled via Siemens 810
CNC Control.
(

After the repair and during the repair I also had to start and test the spindles.
After repairing, I was allowed and allowed to make parts for myself to this day.

This machine also starts with M3/M4 S.... the main spindle.
With (S2)M3/4 S.... the sub spindle is started.
With (S3)M3/4 S... the live tool is started.

It was impossible for me to find a PP working with this machine until today.
It was only possible to make the machine easy to program with the Siemens software in the control.
Everything created with PP has to be reworked for hours and that's bad.

Now to Centroid and what I think would be a good solution with the experience on this machine.
Centroid has a lot of commands from Fanuc or Haas......even the PP from Uwe that works quite well from Haas.

Why not make life easy and take the Haas commands?
There are ready made PP for Haas machines that will work.
I vote for M133/134 S...to start the 2 spindle

this one
(S2)M3/4 S....or similar
just doing extra work.
Best regards Stephen

I don´t mind if the M-codes are like HAAS, since I change the PP anyway for my needs :)

nice that you are back

yes sure
you change everything as you need
I think a bit differently.
if that is changed in centroid,
i.e. in the software that is available for download
then it should be compatible with haas or since it's fanuc or with anything on the market
it doesn't really matter with what but haas or fanuc would be the closest thing to fanuc.

hence my thought of Haas
at the moment only your pp that works is available.
and I had to change something in that too.
So why not take something that already works.

I am writing again in German because some things cannot be presented correctly in English. Sorry.

Schön das du wieder da bist
Hast Winterschlaf beendet.Hihi.

Gruss Stephan

HAAS PP will not work as it is for Cenroid Mill Turn, that why I used parts of it to make a custom one...

At the moment my PP uses M66/86 for second spindle like my lathe is setup.

Will change it after Centroid has made its thing to update second spindle use.

Hhhha that s funny
that's exactly what I changed today in the PP
only I took M68 and M88.

With your knowledge you can still catch up with the Centroid shopturn
that would be cool.

Greetings Stephan
