Page 38 suggests max frequency for step and dir is 200kHz.

Page 79 shows how to jog the motor from the servo front panel. If you can't do this, it won't work in your system.

Both of the forward and reverse inhibit inputs, pins 12 & 13 are negative, I thought they would need 12 . 24v to be active?

12 CW- ARE

13 CCW- REVERSAL

You're right about the pulse frequency for single ended inputs, it looks like it is 200khz

I haven't got 79 pages in the QS6 manual, your url points to the QS5 manual.
I'm using : http://www.robosan.com.tr/pdfs/QS6-Manual.pdf

On page 16, I see differential mode inputs for step and dir are up to 500kHz. In single-ended, it's 200kHz. But I don't think that's your problem here.

Do you not have the tuning software? It's got to be easier than either guessing what the Chinglish manual means or trying to run diagnostics from the front panel. The manual's not clear how some of the inputs are set up - for instance are the forward and reverse inhibit inputs active high or active low etc.

Servos drives have a lot more setup options than VFDs, so there's plenty to get wrong.

Sadly there is no tuning software that I can find for these drives. They were however working before with mach3. I began to doubt it myself, but managed to resurrect the old setup and they worked again with the old controller. At least I know for certain now that they can work using the same cables and a step and direction input.

I looked at your document. You do not have listed the functions of the pins (what they connect to) on the control side.

Yes, if it works with MACH it should well work with Centroid. If its working under Mach now, leave it that way until we figure things out.
Need to see pin functions from the control side to the drive side. I do something similar but I do it on an Excel spreadsheet. On one side, the drive pin number, next to it the function of that pin, then the control side the function of that pin and what grounds and voltages go where.

Incidentally, if you look on the Adtech website, the servo software is available for download. Its currently at QS7 but I expect it will also support QS6.

It's at the top of page 4: https://www.motion-control.net/download-4 "QS7 software"

A whole new world of Chinglish awaits you, should you go that route...

I have been careful right through to avoid changing any setup, until I know what I am doing and why. I try to avoid the potential trap of changing more than one thing and then solving the issue, only to have it still not work because of a different change that I made earlier.
Its much easier to work from the "known to the known" rather than "the unknown to even more unknown" :)

That being said, I am starting to wonder if it may have possibly been working all along, and I'm just not understanding the Acorn user interface properly?

Here are my methods of testing:

1/ Press the reset button so that the button says "Reset Ok", get the Axis dros to display 0 using the green cycle start button (which is not labelled) and use the Jog Keys Z+ and Z-. I see the Dros change when doing this but no motot movement.

2/ Use the MDI and type something like G0 Z100, then press enter on the keyboard and Cycle start. The relevant Z DRO changes to 100, whilst displaying the feedrate oif 600mm per min.

Additionally Marty, when you say I am missing information on the document I sent you regarding connections on the "control side", what do you mean? I can provide any extra info you need.

Muzzer, thank you for the software link, I looked long and hard (but obviously not hard enough) for this software. I see what you mean about Chinglish though. I won't deviate from my current path to explore the depths of this, but rather continue for on my current path...
(unless you think I should?)
