UMC10 from Flashcut to Acorn?

I am going to post the set up file, would you mind looking at it? I am hesitant to really get into the machine til the needed info is acquired.

They are all listed.
Now you need to tag all your wiring I/O and match it up to the Flashcut I/O and figure out how all that works....
Then you can get started.
Let me know how you make out reusing the power supply, It wasn't worth my time and effort so I just bought a replacement from Antekinc.com

So I have removed the signal generator and daughter board.
I did poke around on the toroidal power supply.
I can find, 3.3vdc, 9vdc, 27vdc and 84vdc.
My thought is to just use the 84vdc for the servo drives as they are wired now. Then just use the supplies to have for the Acorn separate.
The wiring on my drives includes and “fault emitter”
and a “fault collector” lines.
All of the other wiring seems self explanatory like step, direction, com, enable. No idea about the above mentioned connections.

Another thing that amazes me is that Dave built a machine without a physical E Stop. Nowhere on this machine or controller is there an Estop, just on the touchscreen. That wont be happening on the conversion!

I would put the signal generator back in so you can see which wires turn the power supply on or did you find that out?
Dave was genius on the mechanical side of things but not so much on the electrical side. He paid FC to do his design work.
I knew him. visited with him, he lived in Scottsdale and I in Mesa. Nice guy.
I also saw his personal Fadal being converted. It never got finished. He was actually designing boards that would go into the FADAL Card Cage to replace the original CPU.
Thing about it, he was having fun in retirement and staying busy.

The power supply and all of the drives power up from the main power button
Besides the emitter collector wires all else regarding drive seems straight forward.
I am not sure about that index conditioning board. Mostly curious about its voltage and how that marker interfaces.
I have downloaded the Logosol manual and am working on comprehending some of it.
I had interacted with Dave many times via YouTube. I had talked to him a few times after buying his UMC10.

The more I study this machine the more I am amazed at its simplicity.
I didnt realize the extent that pneumatics were used.
There is a rotary cylinder that slides the turret towards the head. I was sure that would be a linear cylinder.
And for that spindle index set up again there is an air powered device that projects the roller into the divot in the pulley.
It seems there are about 5 pneumatic valves that control all but the rotation of the carousel.
At first I was concerned with being able to interface with the small control board on page 2.
Not knowing the voltage it might add more burden than necessary.
While I wait for Ethernet 1616 to arrive, wouldnt it be easier to simply use a relay for each pneumatic valve? I can most likely find the voltage for that. I suspect 24vdc.

Yes, just use the relay's and 24VDC solenoid valves. I think he used 120V solenoid valves, look at his board.
Before you dismantle the control, is the time to be documenting and taking measurements. You have a working control.
I suspect the little board is there to take the Z index pulse signal and allow a transistor to close the Flashcut input.
Study things more closely....follow wiring, note where it terminates. Everything you want to know about the FC signal generator and its add on I/O board is in FC's manual.

Dave used a GENEVA mechanism to rotate the carousel. Standard stuff.
Now his little motor and how he put drag on it is a different story. I seem to remember a cable tie on the upper shaft of that motor. You got the upgraded model with a rubber belt....
Is there a prox sensor to count the tools?
