Were you able to get the Acceleration values figured out?
It could be worth doing an Autotune and letting CNC12 set the values for you and then adjust them from there.
Section 6.7 of the Allin1DC manual touches on this very briefly.
There's also more info on this in the mill operator manual on page 383/384 section 15.5.2:
https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... f#page=384
No updates. I was waiting on CNC Kieth to look at the report I submitted.

i lost track of the question, what is the issue? these are centroid dc motors, configure them as the manual says.
are you having tuning issues? then describe the issue please.
you can arrange a 1 one 1 remote tuning session with a centroid tech if you need help

I was having trouble with the acceleration test and you asked for a report.

Yep, got the report looked at. It looks like you have the right PID parameters. What is the problem you're having?

I was having trouble with the acceleration test. It was not getting up to speed fast enough.

ok. are we talking about the Accel time?
i see you have it at .2800 for the X axis. that is fast for a knee mill. i would run it at .5 for starters and then maybe reduce it to .375
also reduce the Max rates for X and Y axis to 400 ipm and 200 for the Z axis. these are common rates to run a knee mill at.

I was finally able to get the acceleration test done using Auto Tune and correcting the feed rate on the program.. It appears to be good now.

Testing video:

On to the fine DRO calibration. Now I'm getting encoder errors when I home the mill. Every step I take there's another problem. Thoughts? Sometimes it's the Z and sometimes the X axis.

Those messages are normal for the first time you home a new installation. Just answer "Y" to accept the new home position.

If you continue to get "home differs by __ counts" warning messages after you accept it the first time, then either your home switches are inconsistent (sticking or moving around); or something is slipping in your drive train.

I have finally made it to the final system test! However, it failed. With the encoder errors I expected it would probably fail. Here's the test info and a video. How do I move forward with this?

Since you will probably never set up the machine to home Z in the minus direction, you could just go to the Machine Configuration -> Motor Parameters table, and change the Z minus home input from 5 (or 6?) to zero.

Leave the non-zero switch input number in place as the minus limit; just zero out the minus home input number.

That should solve both of the issues that the System Test flagged.

Alternately, adjust the Z minus limit trip stop so that it trips the switch about 0.050" sooner (higher); and also go to the Machine Configuration -> Jog Parameters table and change your Z minus travel limit from -3.8056 to -3.7700
