For this sort of application, just assuming that RPM = Hz * 60 is certainly close enough (assuming it is a 2-pole motor). If you are cutting wood with a router bit at 16000 RPM, it probably makes little difference if your speeds are off by 2% to 5%.

I assume you verified that, with M3 S16000, you got approximately 6.67 VDC on the analog reference? If so then the issue is with VFD parameters. If you got 10VDC instead of 6.67VDC, then you have the wrong max RPM in Control Configuration, or your PLC somehow thinks you are in a reduced gear range.

No way to verify rpm. Only going off the 400hz the VFD is indicating and the behavior of the router bit in the wood.

Posted the question on CNc zone where they have a good Hyuang VFD thread going. I think I may need to set P070-p072 as if I was using a pot.

Should know soon I hope. Will have to order a tach.

Phil, post a fresh report....

Ok setting P070 from 1 to 0 solved that issue.

Went back and recalibrated the z axis travel as well. Mounted a better disk indicator to the table. Within .002 which for a router I think will be fine for now.

Having a buddy come over tonight maybe and help with feeds and speeds.

Today is a good day. I had a slight skip in the x axis. I disassembled and found the belt was coming apart. I had a longer belt but it needed some tensioners. I made a first set with 1/2" Brass drilled off center which was just a bit too small. My friend with a machine shop has his machine on a project for a few days.

I made the part in my Laser software and cut them out of 3/8 Acrylic. We will make metal ones next week.

Quick video cutting the adjusters.

Another video of the machine as it is right now. Just a few more adjustments on the DRO distances and I'll have it. I have been waiting too long for this. I tried a few Rapid movements today up to 700ipm. It was smooth as butter.

I owe a huge debt to the folks that have helped along the way.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Phil

Hi,

Worked on a Vcarve of my company Logo this am. Need to make it a bit deeper I believe, and figure out the tool change part just using manual touch off F4 for the initial Z zero.

Thanks Marty,

I have all that, and a good dose of gratitude. Pretty close to throwing the towel in a few times and selling for scrap...

Now the problem I have is my friend says his dad has a 5' x 10' CNC router in his shop that stopped working a few years ago........ Just wants it out of there..

Stay tuned

Phil
