Win 10 has always had the same setting as well. Could PC Tuner be changing something in group policy that has some other dependencies tied to it?

yes, PC Tuner sets Hibernate to Never/Off which SHOULD also disable the "Fast Startup" feature we don't want. I checked it on a few computers and that does seem to be working. PC with batteries (laptops) may take more turning off of settings. (yet another reason we don't recommend using laptops:-))

I have tested the tuner on 2 PCs and 1 Laptop with WIN10 and 1 Laptop with WIN11. Works ok for me.

It did not make any of these unusable, and even if it did, I could restore the backup made right before the testing.

Most problems are 1-2 feet in front of the computer

I just upgraded from an older and working installation 4.86 to 5.10.

Then i have been notified by CNC12 to have ethernet-communication-errors... Didn't have errors with 4.86, but hey, PCs don't lie, so downloaded PC-Tuner-App, startet it, clicked on "Run all ... checks" and...
the PC-Tuner-App is closing itself while testing CPU-speed^^

I clicked on "Prepare Win for Centroid CNC use" anyway, and every everything got a green checkmark there after short time.

Clicked on "Run all checks" again, but again the App crashes/closes itself while performing the first test (CPU-Speed).

I did follow the windows setup manual of 4.86 when i had installed 4.86, just to mention that.

Oh, and that PC is not online. Just a working horse with no WLAN or LAN-Connection to the internet, only standard LAN to Acorn.

For PC tuner PC must have internet connection and it must be set up to US Keyboard, Number and Date format..

And that causes the app to crash when testing CPU-Performance, without any error-message?

In my thinking, no machine-control should have an internet-connection, it is made only for locally controlling my machine and nothing else.
More than ever when every antivirus and firewall has to be disabled...?

Windows defender is working ok with CNC12, but I also allow LAN only for updates or if I use CAM to post gcode...
