Thanks Tom, im taklking about page 8 has this statement:
3.) For Acorn/AcornSix/Hickory systems or if you do not plan on compiling the PLC with Notepad++,
then skip to Step 12.
Does that mean if you have acorn you skip to step 12? Thats how it seems to read to me?
This means if you want to compile a PLC ( this is what you want ) do not skip, follow the TB on all steps, easy peasy.
This really is the easy part, understanding the PLC logic is another thing, something why I have grey hairs now

Well I think i'm nearly there, just one last speed bump I hope. NP++ says it can't find the file but the files are in the cncm folder?

Wrong filename for a lathe, you want to compile acorn_lathe_plc.src

I do yes. I did as instructions said and compile mill.txt in the cncm folder and changed it's name to compile.cmd. I assumed you overwrite the existing compile.cmd file?

compile.cmd is installed automatic when installing CNC12, but you can also use the file in the NP++Zip and just rename like in the TB.
Pls. post a fresh report.

Report is from the mill and no compile.cmd in the cncm folder.
The error in Np++ is telling you it can not find this file, because it is not there....
