In order to create this report I manually triggered the master switch before the slave. I’ve done it multiple times before I figured it out. My machine had a pretty tight tolerance between both the slave and the master so I would get this error sometimes. I made another bracket for my slave homing switch and now it doesn’t happen unless somebody manually moved the gantry.

There doesn’t seem to be any relation with anything else. If the homing fails because the master switch is triggered first, the travel limits get erased every time. If this scenario happens, the software asks the operator to press escape to clear the error. If you open up the wizard and go to the homing tab after, the travel limits are all at zero.

Hope this helps
During the Auto Squaring Macro (M74).. the Macro has to disable Pairing and Travel limits to perform the moves to Auto Square. When M74 is done it re-pairs the axes and puts the Travel Limits back in place. If you or CNC12 interrupts the Auto Square program by pressing ESC or Estop or Reset at the moment in the macro that M74 has either Unpaired or Zero'd out the Travel limits... guess what? the Axis will be Unpaired and the Travel Limits will be Zero!

So under normal operation you will never run into this.. but during setup..yes it is common to have this happen since you are getting things sorted out..
Both of these are no big deal since you can re-pair the axes with the button on the VCP and for the travel limits.... you shouldn't have travel limit active anyways until you get Auto Homing and Squaring running! Put the Travel Limits in as the last step, once you get the machine consistently homing. Then make a fresh report.zip then if you scramble anything in the future you can just press "restore report" and go right back to this point.

Please read page 20 of the axis pairing guide.

Several times, the travel limits were reset to zero after I had previously set them to specific values for my table. I did have several occasions where the master home switch was triggered before the slave switch. I can document this with screen shots and photos if you need them. I assume that this is now a known "bug" in the software.

David,
Hello! the M74 was not able to complete the cycle and was interrupted before it had a chance to put the travel limits back in place.
sounds like you need more offset on the master switch, move it further away from the gantry so it does not trip first.
