Dean, thank you SO much for posting a video of the Wizard anomally.
Could you please run ALL Windows updates, repeatedly until there are no more. We believe it to be an issue with a lacking Windows update.
I noted in your video, that your PC drivers are up to date.

Thanks again!
Marty

Dan...
Other than Marty's mentions Windows issue, I have only seen that previously when a home switch triggers that is not on the axis in motion. Can you verify by using the ALT + I live IO screen that your limits are set to the axes they are assigned to in the Wizard IO screen?

Mine did this. After I rebooted everything I changed it back to my previous values.
if you enter a number out of range of possibility the Wizard reverts to default setting. see my post above for wizard range checking explanation.
It's working now Keith. I'm running 400,000 steps and for some reason the Acorn needed to be cycled for the wizard to pick up the new value. After I cycled the Acorn, it picked up the new value of 400,000 and let me enter the 900ipm like I had before. The new G214v go all the way up to 51,200 micro steps, because of the full step morphing of the Geckos I haven't experienced any lost steps or lost torque just very smooth and quiet stepper motion.

Now I just need to figure out what I'm doing wrong with the homing. I think it's what you or Gary were telling me before that I will need to modify the home file. 4.12 allowed me to use a different input for each sensor and assign them home/limit it's not working on 4.14. The weird thing is it goes through the program fine and picks up the soft limit's, but doesn't set the home position.

Any way I'm going to post the video for Gary and I will put up the zip file in a while. I always use my phone for the forum since I can't use my CNCPC with the internet while the machine is powered up.

Edit:
One more thing to note is that after the home cycle, that even though it says Machine Home Not Set the soft limit's work. Prior to running the home cycle the machine will trip the limit switches.

As always thank you for your help,

Dan
please post a report and screen shots of your wizard i/o screen for help.

Dean, Hello. thanks for the good information!!
so, what i see that is a common thread in two of "Wizard won't start from cnc12" cases is both you and ben are running PC's that previously had a Windows 10 Enterprise User account (not a fresh install of Windows 10) that then was edited to be a Admin account but not all the permissions got transferred over.
so a quick easy fix/test for this is to simply RIGHT CLICK the CNC12 icon and click "RUN as Administrator" and the Wizard will start from inside CNC12.

Dan,

I use M105/M106 with my axis home switches on separate, unassigned inputs. Works great. I’m only using soft limits and only use those inputs in my homing routine.

Ok so I checked the limit sensors and they are working and are set to the correct axis's and on the correct inputs. The weird thing is that if I change to simple home and home the machine away from where my sensors are say 5". Then go back into the wizard and change to home to switch go back to CNC12 and Hit reset home. The machine travels past the old homing spot to the sensors and sets the new position with the sensors.

I'll do a video so you can see what it's doing.

Dan

fix for Wizard wont start from CNC12 Utility menu video

https://youtu.be/lOs3jMX8qbI

https://youtu.be/lOs3jMX8qbI

Choices of solutions

1.) Set your windows user account up so it really has Administrator Privileges.

2.) Reinstall Windows 10 and setup the user account with Administrator Privileges

3.) Set the properties in advanced tab for the CNC Mill or CNC Lathe desktop shortcut to "run as administrator" when you double click the icon.

Dan, please follow forum protocol and post a FRESH report.zip file when posting.
and screen shots of the wizard i/o , homing , pairing and axis configuration menus.
video is great.. but i can't tell how your machine is configured by looking at the video.

sorry...but...i've asked nicely several times for a report.zip file , you are making it impossible to help...
i'm going to enforce the forum rule... no fresh report.zip.. no tech support.
:D
