If I buy a ver4 Acorn could I move my Digitizing bundle from my old board to the new one or would I have to purchase a Digitizing bundle again?

The license is tied to the board. So you may have to get another license.
Why would you swap out the board?

Actually I want to take the older board and use it on a surface grinder update and use the rev4 board on the milling machine. I would not need digitizing on the surface grinder. I did message Centroid about this but received no answer. Not a big deal just wondering if it was possible. I an always use another brand of control for the surface grinder.

The function of the 2 versions are exactly the same. Same 8 inputs, same 8 outputs. Just have LED's added
Why would you need to swap them? What would you gain?

I'd not worry about moving the boards either. You're not gaining/loosing functionality.
Go with the new Acorn on the surface grinder. Once the door is closed, you won't be able to tell the difference

How long until we get the I/O Board please? Myself and a many others are patiently waiting. Ive got Turrets to code and whilst Centroid is the weapon of choice, I dont want to keep messing about with Arduinos and hacky stuff to make it all work. Pretty please.
Also, when will this board do 2 more axis? Surely if you have the basis of a 4 axis board, allowing 2 more axis could be relatively straight forward? Ive got a number of requirements where I'd like to do a 5 Axis machine but am forced to look elsewhere.
Thanks

Chaz,
From what I understand it's the government regulations that have caused Centroid to limit the Acorn to 4-axis. I too have a project that I wish Acorn had support for 4-axis/5-motors, I looked at the Oak but the cost and complexity were too much. I'll be doing the project with an Acorn but will have to hardware pair the y-axis - not optimal.
Maybe Centroid can make a "Seedling" or "Sapling" board that is more than 4-axis, step/direction,16-inputs, 16-outputs, with wizard configuration for $750-ish?
