If they had a custom PLC before I have to assume they need to be using that custom PLC now, which they are according to the original report.
I've asked our PLC expert to take a look at this thread to see if he can provide any insight.

Posting new reports as you go along and change things can help us stay up to date with your machine configuration.

This indicates which PLC file has been compiled and is being used.
In this case they have a custom PLC for a spindle lock and some kind of spindle door.
"allin1dc-basic-SpinLock.src"
From what I can tell, the Aux 3 key is used to lock/unlock the spindle with a solenoid connected to Output 9 "SpindleLockOut".
And Input 8 "SpindleDoorClosedIN" needs to be satisfied (presumably the door needs to be closed).

As Lavrgs said, these inputs and outputs can be seen in the diagnostic screen with Alt + i on the main screen of CNC12.
Ok so I need to verify I have the correct PLC compiled and uploaded "allin1dc-basic-SpinLock.src". Once verified or corrected I need to figure out what is going on with input 8. Alt+ i for diagnostic screen. I do not have a spindle door so it's strange that it's in there. Maybe I just need to figure out a different way to satisfy input 8. I'll have to do some research on using the diagnostic screen. I've pulled it up before but don't really know how to effectively use it. Aux 3 does lock and unlock the spindle. No problem there.

In the diagnostic screen things can be tweaked...although what really needs to happen is to fix the problem.

Once in the diagnostic screen you will see a bunch of red or green dots. If you move the cursor to each dot there will be a description at the bottom of the screen for items that are used. The top row is inputs and you might look at number 8 and tell us what color it is

Looking at previous reports from this system, the SpinLock PLC is indeed the plc this system was using. Input 8 according to the PLC comments is for a spindle belt Door Guard.

I would assume that if this machine was running before, this PLC should work in current revisions of software as well as is without need to modify. Can see a wire connected to Input 8 as well in the pictures provided.

I would compile the SpinLock PLC and then trace where that wire connected to input 8 goes. There may be a simple switch or sensor that needs replaced or adjusted.

Assuming that your 6/6/25 v5.26 report is still current, your M3 and M4 (and M7 and M8) macro files have been corrupted.

All the characters in those macro files have been replaced with zero (NUL) bytes.

That is probably why you cannot start the spindle in Auto mode at the MDI prompt (although I do not know why "nothing happens", instead of CNC12 closing the MDI prompt and displaying an error message in the message box).

You can just delete all four of those files, and your control should work fine without them:
- mfunc3.mac
- mfunc4.mac
- mfunc7.mac
- mfunc8.mac

You may have other corrupted files too, but that should at least give you a start.

would reinstalling get those files back? Or maybe the old directory was saved before the cnc11 to cnc12 update.

If you can find them in a pre-update report or in a backup of the pre-update cncm folder, and they were not corrupted back then, then it would work to restore those copies.

Reinstalling CNC12 and choosing to install a factory-supplied PLC program would give you fresh factory-standard macros, but it would also overwrite the PLC program and any accompanying message files.

Thank you! That worked. I should be up and running now. I will upload another report as I did reinstall the most current rev of cnc12. If I run into other issues I will post them. Thank you all who helped. Centroid support has been amazing so far. Especially for me when I am not available for tech support during the day.

Well it couldn't be that easy right...when I set wcs and hit cycle/ start the tool is not where it should be. I have set up parts when it was cnc11 and did not have this issue
