Re: Build Thread - Hint-Els 4 Axis Dental Machine - Granite / Epucret, 80K RPM Spindle / ATC
So, a lot of progress.
Spindle working after a bit of faffing about.
Toolsetter is working however I cant set the input via the Wizard, only via parameter 11, any ideas? - FIXED BELOW !!!
I need to work out how to use the toolsetter. Ive got it now so it measures after every tool change (see the vid) but I dont fully understand how that works against the Z0 as set when do I setup the part. Ill do some more reading / understanding. My home limits seem very repeatable. Should I rather just do each tool via the toolsetter once as they are changed and then reference based on Z home?

FIXED - Use 'triggered', not 'detect'....
Report attached. Any idea why I cannot set the TT / Probe input value? No option, just blank. I can set via parameter 11, but each time I open the Wizard, it overwrites this value.
Thanks

I also get no movement at all with 200 KHZ pulse rate using Stepper Online DM556 (version 4). Vcc is with 24V. Their spec says it should run up to 200 KHZ.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Build Thread - Hint-Els 4 Axis Dental Machine - Granite / Epucret, 80K RPM Spindle / ATC
Anyone else running DM556 stepper drivers and running at higher than 100 KHZ stepping rate?

I would never use this open loop stuff, but it is rated for 200 kHz...

I didnt want to change the motors, the B axis mounting in very specific. But I agree, generally not.
I get no movement at all on 200 KHz, not even 'bad' movement, nothing. Says rated for 200 ...

Re: Build Thread - Hint-Els 4 Axis Dental Machine - Granite / Epucret, 80K RPM Spindle / ATC
Are the DM556 original Leadshine or knock off?
If possible I would change to CL Stepperonline and CL57 V4.1 Drivers, they are perfect even at 400 kHz

Ordered from Stepperonline, so are they knockoffs?
I'm OK at 100 KHz but woulndt mind a bit more speed and dont want to reduce steps.

i've seen a bunch of drives over the years that say they are good up to 200 and they are not.

drop the step rate down to 4000 on the drive and in the Wizard to pick up some more speed and still have decent resolution
