Thanks! It is a Weiss VM25L pretty much everything is import except the software lol. I did upgrade the bearing to good Japan ones and also the spindle is a good hybrid servo. I am limited to 3000 rpms but it is doing just fine. I have a 20k head but have seen no real reason to upgrade so it just sits. I did enclose the entire thing and that was probably the best upgrade yet lol.

I have a semi - auto small and large lathe. The large one has a German ELS and the small one a Chinese. I have done massive amounts of work on both to make them very capable. I really want to upgrade both of them to Acorn since I now see just how easy to use and reliable it is however what I cannot figure out is an efficient way to use intercon for things I do all the time like threading barrels without having to fire up Fusion 360 to make/get the code.

Acorn lathe is a big time saver compared to ELS, and for 99% I do my turning with Intercon.

update...Holy Cow, that video really shows how easy it is! Do you have one on running a milling machine also by any chance? I am sold and will first try and upgrade my small lathe and maybe the large one after running that one a while. I need to add a stepper to the X axis first, right now I only have one on the Z but the large one has both.

The profile cycle is your friend, describe the final part in lines and arcs and CNC12 will do the work for you.

I know the Rocketronic ELS4 also, INHO slow and more complicated compared to make parts with Intercon and the comfy full CNC stuff like auto tool measure, tool lib and repeat parts, rigid tapping ect...

For single operations you have One Shots on the VCP, they do a single operation from the point where the tool is like the ELS.

With the new USB BOB you can have two handweels on Acorn like a manual controlled lathe.

Yeah, I have only figured out simple turn down operations and threading on my Rocket ELS but want to do complex shapes but it is beyond me. I did make a spear point on accident lol.
