I'm also scratching my head on how to e stop the spindle. Is it just a case of cutting the mains power supply with the e stop contactor??

Yes, e-stop cuts power to the servo.

Ideally, e-stop would cut motor power to the servos while leaving the servo control still powered up. Same for the spindle - remove the motor power, but leave the VFD control power on.
This lets you retrieve any error or fault codes from the devices.

If a Servo goes on error, the machine stops anyway, so i can read the error code.
But when I hit E-Stop I want to cut off all high voltage going to the machine for safety reasons.

What connector is on the drive to connect it to the Acorn? DB44 or DB25? Or something else? I have more money invested in crimping and wiring tools that I have in the Acorn with pro license! All these Knipex tools start to add up!
Its a SCSI 50 pin connector.

Uwe, I am comparing your wiring diagram for the JASD 15002 spindle servo with the one in the JASD manual. Excuse me if I am wrong but I think there was a typo on the pin17 connection should read pin 7. Here's the diagram from the manual.

Pin 7 is for external 24V, Pin 17 to Pin11 for internal 24V.

Hello Uwe, I am bench testing now and have one question. Above you wrote:
"In the Zip is the schematic as PDF and DWG , all JMC manuals / selection guides and the XML file for the drive types to use with Acorn."
What is the XML file used for?
Thanks... Richard

This is a Drivetype file for the wizard.

Got it. So you don't need it for a spindle application.
Thank you.
