I am having a similar situation with my lathe. Just upgraded to a new control box and teknic SDK servos. Ever since the upgrade, I get random occasional situations when jogging with either the wireless mpg or VCP that the jogging will not stop when the button is released. Since it happens with the mpg as well I have ruled out a sticky mouse. Also, I use the same mpg on my mill and do not have this issue. It's a major problem because I am usually trying to get the tool in position for automatic touch-off and I have crashed into the TT once already. Fortunately, no damage was done. I am not sure why this would be happening, especially when nothing else is going on with the lathe. Just jogging.

I also get a Z position error quite often and I am not sure how to fix it. I did some searches here and it seems that the error is related to the z axis not keeping up with the spindle speed changes???? I always seems to happen when approaching the workpiece for a facing or turning operation. Just as it moves to engage the stock the error pops up. After this happens the machine and part zeros are way off. I apologize for not knowing the exact error but the last time it happened I got extremely frustrated and walked away and haven't used it since. I have attached a report if anybody has any ideas.

So I went through all of the steps in all of the above and didn't find anything that helped. I upgraded to 4.8 and ran a stress test that failed. I ran across a post that mentioned that intel ethernet adapters need a setting changed for them to work. under the advanced tab, "speed and duplex" was set to auto negotiate. as the post suggested, i changed it to 100Mbps half duplex. The stress test now passes. See the attached screen shot.
