CNC4PC got back to me confirmed the resistors are built into the board - Though they only seemed semi-confident that they will eliminate noise?
Now it seems the debate is whether these resistors live at the controller end or at the motor end of the wiring?

It's true that an earlier commenter asked about this, but I think it's pretty clear that Teknic has instructed them to be as close to the controller side as possible.

There is no debate. They need to be connected at the controller (Acorn) end. There is no access at the motor end.
