Bob,
it's really very simple to wire a ProbeDetect signal into a 2 wire probe. All you need is a plug/socket that has at least 4 pins. Very common is the DIN 5 connector:

On the probe side you have the male plug where you would wire the trip signal wires to pin 1 and 3 and then just bridge pin 4 & 5 in the plug with a short wire. On the control box side you have the female socket where you would wire pin1 to the ProbeTripped Input and pin 4 to the ProbeDetect Input. Pin 3 & 5 are wired to Common.
