Plugging in an MPG is the only way to avoid that message in old software versions.

So Joshua at Centroid has been helping me verify that I can update the PC to Windows 10. It appears initially that this will work. I swapped my Acorn PC for the Linux PC and loaded a different version of CNC11.
It boots faster and no errors so far but, but my options are now locked and it says I am not configured.
Can I use my old codes? EDIT: yes I can
I am submitting my NEW report here as well
Thanks to Marty and everyone here for helping so far!
Also my VFD arrived today. If I had any "drive", I would go wire it in. lol

You changed your old Linux computer out for a Windows 10 computer? I wasn't aware that was possible without significant hardware changes. I guess if it is with an MPU11 it may work.
I have a Lathe with a DC3iob running CNC 11 on a Linux based machine with compact flash drive. Seems to work ok, but just have that gut feeling that it wont be ok at some point and I wont be able to scavenge parts to repair the computer.

It works on my PC for now. I haven't fully tested as I am still setting everything up. MPU11 is the key for sure. I am running CNC11, but I may switch to 12 after I am making chips!
Centroid folks are very helpful.

Yes, if you have an early Linux-based CNC11/MPU11 system (e.g. an MPU11 with DC3IOB, or MPU11 with GPIO4D) you can update to Windows and current software.
It is essential that you install the CNC11 v3.06 update and power up at least once, before updating to software newer than CNC11 v3.06. Going directly to current software will "brick" the MPU11, due to changes in the boot code.
Most Linux-based Centroid controls out there are not CNC11/MPU11 systems, but instead are CPU7 or CPU10 systems running CNC10. Those systems do require substantial hardware changes in order to update to CNC11 or CNC12.

That's important information!

Changed the com cable, and everything booted back the way it was originally. My gut says that wasn't the issue but it's okay for now.
I still have an error 428 to check the MPG cable. There is no MPG. What parameter turns this off? 19 is set to zero.
Thanks,
Set Parameter 348 to 0
Give that a go....
