So im stuck at my limit switch wiring. My switch has 4 wires and a ground wire per axis. So basically 2 plungers, on the switch and trip dogs on each end of the axis. Is there schematic which breaks down wiring the inputs?
Thanks

So Basically theres only two wire inputs for each axis on the board, but I have four per axis. I will upload some pics today at some point.

I believe i firgured it out part of the problem. One of the switches on each switch is NO and the other is NC. So, looks like i will have to do some special programming to use these switches. Lol fun. Pics added

If each axis has one switch unit; and each switch unit has two plungers; and each plunger has an independent contact block with one NO and one NC contact, then you are in a good place.

Ignore the NO contacts. You will not use them.

Reconfigure the trip dogs if necessary, so that one (and only one) plunger is triggered at the minus end of the axis, and the other (and only the other) plunger is triggered at the plus end of the axis.

For each axis direction, you connect the NC contacts of its switch between an Allin1DC PLC input and your 0VDC common.

For example -- assuming you did not have to set Direction Reversal for the X axis -- you would connect the switch that trips at the X minus end of travel (table to the right) as follows:
1) One wire of the NC contact to INP1 on the Allin1DC.
2) The other wire of the NC contact to 0VDC common.
Connect the other contact block in the X axis switch -- the one that is tripped at the X plus end of travel -- to INP2 and 0VDC, in the same manner.

There should be a diagram of that type of limit switch connection on nearly every Allin1DC schematic.

The NC contacts for your switches are the terminals nearer to center, numbered 21 and 22.

I should be able to modify the dog on Y axis to work with one limit switches.
Fortunately, i was able to get both switches on x and z to work as normally closed and have wired them in accordingly-theyvwere adjustable.
The NO switch on Y is damaged or something and I cant get it to adjust to NC.
I understand how to wire the two switches per axis into the inputs, but how do I wire one switch into both Y+ and Y-?
Thanks

There is no "adjustment". You take the wires off the NO (outer) screw terminals, and connect them to the NC (inner) screw terminals instead.

If the contact block is faulty or damaged so that you do not have functional NC terminals, and you cannot just replace the switch or contact block, then it would be better to set up the one remaining switch as just one direction (typically Y+, since that is the direction you probably want to home) and defeat the other direction.

Unless your mill has mechanical manual handwheels, connecting the same switch to both the plus and minus limit inputs is inconvenient, because it would be impossible to move off of the switch once it was tripped.

Yes exactly, i switched the the other axis to the center terminals and I was able to find a replacement contacts on ebay. Hopefully should be delivered this week. Thanks

Running into a problem. I wired up the lube pump yesterday evening and everything seemed to go fine. I didn’t test the pump at that time. Went out to the shop this morning and turned everything on and went to test the pump. The software and control started fine and I pressed MDI mode to see if the lube pump would work and I heard a pop. Saw a Y axis no motion error code. I checked the fuses and sure enough the y axis fuse didn’t have continuity. I tested all motors as per instructions and all encoder counted good when rotating. Im a little concerned here. Posting a report file.

Note this was the first time i have gone into MDI mode on the control. I tested the motors with a volt meter as per the manual and martys video- this was a couple weeks ago. Aside from the encoders, its simply the two dc conductes going into the board, so wiring shouldnt be the issue. I will test for a grounded motor again this evening. I was thinking of disconnecting the y axis leads and replacing the fuse and firing up again, but I may call in to confirm this is safe.

Also, yesterday I finalized the wiring on the limit switches with no hickups.

Tested the motor again and it appears to be good. I changed the fuse on y.
I disconnected all dc power to the plc.
Booted up with no problem. Went to mdi mode and no faults.
Turned everything off, reconnected incoming 170v DC power.
I Rebooted the machine and pop- y axis fuse pops again this time without motors connected nor going to mdi mode.
It appears theres a short in the DC circuit on the board, because it doesnt fault unless dc power is applied. :|
