You haven't done what Shawn stated here...viewtopic.php?p=99407#p99407
Those drives are 5V logic, and they need to use the DB25 connector (H6) as shown in the schematic that was linked in that post. Don't connect the enable circuits, as most of these drives are enabled by default.

As mentioned, you need to get a breakout board for the H6 connector, amazon for less than $10.00 Then that is where you need to connect your drives to, that breakout board.

Did you even LOOK at the diagram I linked to?
I can tell you what’s wrong without you even sending the board back to Centroid. It’s not wired like the diagram I asked you to look at and follow. That’s why it is not working.
Where does it show the stepper drive wired to the headers? Where does it show the enabled line hooked up? Please, please study the diagram below and follow it. It’ll work.

And please post a current report from the Acorn so we can look at your settings.

Re: Cannot Get ACORN to work with my small CNC machine
Folks,
I have done everything I was told too do but the ACORN still doesn't work.
I tried the wiring shown in Centroid drawings numbers S14976, S15207 and earlier S15007 and the machine never has worked at all.
I think there must be an issue with the ACORN device so I will be contacting Centroid tomorrow regarding this.
I hope they will just want me to send it to them for testing.
Please let me know if I have done the right ways of trying to get ACORN to work properly.

Re: Cannot Get ACORN to work with my small CNC machine
Can you share a pic of the drives wired to the DB25 WITOUT the enable lines hooked up? Also, you still haven’t uploaded a report from your machine so we can see your configuration. If you haven’t moved the step and direction wires on the Acorn to a breakout board plugged into the DB25 it won’t work. Also, if you haven’t set the Acorn to DB25 and not the headers, it won’t work. Without a report from your machine we can’t fully help you.

Re: Cannot Get ACORN to work with my small CNC machine
ShawnM,
I'll post photos of what I have done by using the DB25 and the wiring I have done by using the DB25 as shown in the drawings S14976 and S15007.
I wired it as the S14976 first and it didn't work then I wired it as shown in the S15007 and it also doesn't work using wiring that way.
I still think it's a problem with the ACORN device.
Again, I'll take photos tomorrow morning and post them as soon as I can.

Here are the photos that are showing how I have used the DB25 and it still doesn't work.

Re: Cannot Get ACORN to work with my small CNC machine
The reason it still doesn't work, is because you still didn't listen. It looks like you have the enable lines wired to the header where the step and dir were wired before. You were ask to not use that and you still did. You basically used 24v from the header to the drives that need 5v so hopefully you didn't burn them up. The info you provided on your driver tells what value resistor you have to use to protect the drivers if you use different voltages.
Anyway, remove those wires from your drivers and try again.

Re: Cannot Get ACORN to work with my small CNC machine
Ken Rychlik - Here are responses to your bad things you have printed
1) The reason it still doesn't work, is because you still didn't listen.
I read all responses and the others have been helpful.
2) It looks like you have the enable lines wired to the header where the step and dir were wired before.
You were ask to not use that and you still did.
It has been wired just like you will see in these diagrams on the Centroid drawings S14976, S15207 and earlier S15007
3) You basically used 24v from the header to the drives that need 5v so hopefully you didn't burn them up. The info you provided on your driver tells what value resistor you have to use to protect the drivers if you use different voltages.
You are totally incorrect as the volts to the drivers are totally correct as 24 VDC and 5 VDC as shown in the drawings. You are totally incorrect!!!
4) Anyway, remove those wires from your drivers and try again.
Will not be the correct thing to do!! Look at my drawings!!

Re: Cannot Get ACORN to work with my small CNC machine
This screenshot is the very first drawing you referenced. S14976
Where do you see an enable line ran in this pic?
If you want to leave it the way it is and not working, I'm fine with that. Shawn and Sword and Me all said to leave the enable lines off.
Take care
