Hi,

I will perform other test. I have switched drives and cables. With three drive and motor combinations all fully functional on axis three and none work on axis four. This unit has not gone into service yet as i am going to configure the fifth axis today. We have ordered a new Oak package today for another machine. I will wait for that to arrive to possibly switch out the Oak with the new one before we ship this one out if it comes to that. Many thanks for your assistance !!

Hi,
Hooked up the fifth axis today with optic direct and running good except lack of enable signal on AXIS 4. After looking at PLC Inspector I don't see anything jumping out at me with drives disabled and enabled. The A axis is now on AXIS 4. Not sure of any significance of the highlighted line in drive6 picture.

I don't see anything unusual with your photos or report once again.

I did take a deeper look at the Oak PLC and documentation. Try looking at SV_DRIVE_CONTROL_4 and SV_DRIVE_CONTROL_5 (or SV_Control_4_Shadow_W) in the PLC Detective. I think you should be able to find them in the "Watch" tab.

If you can't find them there then you should be able to find them as word 73 and 74 in the ALT + I PLC Inspector.

Enable is the 15th bit so with the E-stop disengaged and drives enabled I would expect to see a value of 32,768 in both words. If you had direction reversal for those axes I would expect to see 32,832.

I'm just trying to verify that the Oak is being instructed to send the enable signal. I think it might be a hardware issue and then I would suggest you try switching it with the incoming Oak as you said you would.

Hi,

Happy New Year!!
I switched out the Oak with new unit and all is working except for lack of license. How do i get the license for new Oak on old PC. Is there a fifth axis jog option for the VCP?
