I am running out of ideas....

Next thing I would do is update to 5.10.

I am lost on this one. I just can't imagine version 5.08 vs 5.10 would make a difference. Not sure if I should try another encoder. The fact that it runs correctly once, then differently the next time is very strange.

Richard, this is not the Intercon file requested. Please navigate to the c:\Intercon folder and post the "tapping test.icn" file.
Hope this helps
Nigel

I really don't want to waste too much of all your time if you think this may be related to the encoder. The current encoder is an Omron, that seems to sell for around $650.00. I know for sure that I didn't pay anywhere close to this as I bought it on Ebay and wasn't aware of the fact that there were knock-offs out there.

I need to replace it with an encoder with a 6mm shaft. I found the following encoders on Automation Direct. Can you please confirm that these are compatible with Acorn? Is there any difference in performance with 38mm or 40mm encoder bodies?

https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/sh ... 2240mm%22)

If these are compatible, I will get one in and cross my fingers unless there is something else I should try.

Best... Richard

Uwe.... SOLVED!!! This problem is resolved. Rigid tapping working perfectly from Fusion 360 and Intercon!!!

I did not think changing to Version 5.10 would do the trick... but it did!

PS: I copied the Swissi install app to the C: drive and it installed perfectly. I guess you cannot run it from a USB drive.

YOU MADE MY DAY :)
THANKS!

What we did was upgrade to 5.10 and using rigid tapping parameters I know that will work with a fast servo spindle drive....

Cool thing update done from Germany on a CNC in Arizona :D

IMHO Centroids rigid tapping is better or as good as most other industrial CNCs....
