Software Update issues

Post by Deon »

It has been a while(4 years) since I have fired up and used my lathe a lot of distractions. I updated the software to 5.3 and attempted to restore the last report to get the data needed to use the lathe without manually inputting everything. I got a message not compatible to do so if I restore. So I manually input data. I had screen shots to do so. But, the menus are NOT the same and did the best I could. I was told to move off of the limit switch to continue. It was not on a switch and manually triggered the switches, the display showed not tripped until I tripped it. I could not move the motors with the control either. I have watched so many videos and my eyes hurt. I do not remember how to get my pro license into the update. I know I need to post report maybe later.

It sounds like you need to adjust the input inversion for the limit switches. Go to the Input Definitions page and and click on the red or green circle next to your limit switch inputs. The color will change and the input will then read the limit switches correctly. Don't forget to press "Write Settings to CNC Control Configuration" when you're done.

When you installed the new version of CNC12 it should have made a backup of your previous cncm directory.
In this backup you should be able to find a license.dat file.
You should be able to copy and paste that file into your new cncm directory to install your license.

after copy into cncm folder, restart cnc12 and license is "installed"

and Post a fresh report.zip so we can see your current settings! otherwise we are just guessing.
