I am about to pull the trigger on converting a Chinese router to Acorn and CNC12 Router. Before ordering, I want to know more about its probe capacity. The machine has an ATC with a fixed tool measure sensor. I would like to use a KP-3 for “one off” setups. Finally, I would like a touch-off sensor for setting Z0 for our normal production work.
I know I could use the KP-3 to set Z0, but for production work, I would like to keep the operation similar to another machine we have. Less operator confusion…
I will be using the Ether 16/16 so I have plenty of inputs. Will this system support 3 different probing strategies?
TIA for any understanding

Re: Probing capabilities
I have a fixed tool touch off for measuring tools, a movable touch plate for setting Z0 and a probe for probing parts. If this is what you mean then yes, it’s very capable of all three.

Yes, that is precisely what I mean. Time to order hardware!

Re: Probing capabilities
I’m just getting into the conversion. As I look at the setup screen, I only see a selection for probe and tool touch. How did you configure all three?
TIA

Re: Probing capabilities
Are you using the latest version of CNC12? There's setup for all three devices in the Wizard.
