Hello,
I would like to develop some CNC12 macros and skins away from home. It seems some posts allude to being able to use a CNC12 emulator, but I have not been able to recreate this. I think they are implying it is for "intercon" only.

Can someone confirm that this feature doesn't exist yet?
And if it is in the works, can I ask that it not ask to change the IP address of the computer?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: CNC12 Emulator
Hello,
The Emulator is for CNC12 software and Intercon. While a VCP will be displayed it is not really functional.
The CNC12 software is functional. You can write and test programs, graph programs, etc. Download and install the "5.24 offline"
I use it everyday.

Re: CNC12 Emulator
the VCP requires a PLC program to work, the PLC program lives on the Acorn board.
Centroid is a hybrid PC based system which has many great advantages, one disadvantage is that you can't run a fully functioning version of CNC12/VCP without a Centroid CNC control main board attached to the CNCPC.
advantages.
Centroid CNC12 software operates on a Windows 10/11 PC, but the critical machine tool motion control and PLC functions are executed by our CNC hardware, making it a hybrid PC-based CNC controller. The Windows PC is being used for the user interface, while the essential high speed machine tool motion and function is being handled by the Centroid controller on-board Motion Control processor and the on-board PLC. This arrangement is the best of both worlds, a PC for a non-proprietary, wide compatibility, reliable, affordable, serviceable CNC computer without having the problems of a fully PC based CNC control as any issues related to the PC CPU usage or a momentary Windows glitch will not affect the CNC machine tool operation as both the CNC PLC and Motion control is performed on directly on our hardware by our integrated firmware (which auto updates with each new Centroid CNC software release, so there are no drivers to mess with or other complicated procedures).
