Use of In8 with Gecko 540 <Solved>

Post by dfmiller »

SW is CNC12 V5.30
I am trying to connect an Acorn Rev 4 to a Gecko 540 (DB25) and attach a touch probe and a Touch plate.
According to S14980 IN5 is ESTOPOK. I have the E-Stop connected per S15980 on Pins 10 and 11

I have limits NO NPN working and home works fine.
I can attach the Touch probe to IN6 and IN7. That works fine
I need 2 more input for the touch plate. The Touch off is NC and from what I read you need 2 inputs for a NC device.
So I am trying to free up more pins.
But if I assign the ESTOPOK to IN5 per the diagram (S114980) in the Wizard the drives are disabled and nothing moves. If I go into the Wizard and move to back to IN8 the drives start working again. (After cycling power etc)
I am trying to get 2 inputs to hook up touchplate.
Is there something else I need to when I move the ESTOPOK to PIN 5.

Confused Dave

So I figured it out. The DRIVEOK Signal for the G540 is a NO signal so I had to move the EXTOP signal to PIN5 and invert it in the Wizard and all is well.
EStop works the drives are enabled and the drives work.
Thanks for all the views.

Just so you know, you can use ANY input or output as you need to. The Centroid wiring diagrams are just examples. You can put the estop on ANY input you have available and set that input to NC or NO. Same with the Drive OK, you can use ANY input you have available and set it up as NC or NO.
