Tryax YCM50 s/n 604767

Post by MM0TJR »

This is a "build thread" for a Tryax YCM50 system, serialnr 604767. It has a Centroid control system in it very similar to Centroid 13461B (see other thread from this user)
it is at present in a state of some dilapidation and appears to have had very little use.

How can we find the Centroid control system identification number?

The Centroid serial number would probably be in the 1000 series (maybe between 1070 and 1450?) and would have been on a tag on the back of the console (behind the keyboard and jog panel), and also on the door of the gray control cabinet.

If those are both missing, it can be looked up from the CPU7 board serial number. Look inside the PC for the CPU7 board (full-length ISA expansion board, with the optical fibers plugged into it) and note both the serial number scratched into the corner of the circuit board, and also the 9-digit or 10-digit code hand-written on the label of the CPU7 PIC chip (28-pin IC in a socket near the end with the fiber optics).

hello. this is a good candidate for a new Allin1DC! you can reuse the axis servo motors.

parts list

Allin1DC https://shopcentroidcnc.com/allin1dc-cnc-controller/
new cap and bridge DC power generator
CNCPC
Resistive Touch Screen LCD

optional
WMPG-6
VFD for spindle motor so you can have programmable spindle speed.

I upgraded our Tryax BF4C with the Allin1DC. It is a great system. I am really pleased with the outcome. Just a pity we are now avoiding US suppliers due to the "hostile environment" the administration there has created.

thanks for reporting back your success with the Allin1DC. please post updated photo(s) as some point, we'd all like to see what you did to get this machine back in the game!
