Thank you Marty, your help has been appreciated.
I took 1.5 seconds out the reverse, works better.
Hopefully this thread has every stupid question asked by me already so the next guy has it to hand but i will also do a write up with my photos to finish it off.
Considering I've never even wired a relay in before this its been a good project to expand my electronics knowledge all in all.
Not stupid at all. You persevered and made it to the end!
Marty

Done 200 threads today, worked flawlessly, very happy with the Centroid product.
The machine comes with "MAE HY 200-3424-310 A8" steppers which were functional so we decided to stick with them and see what happens. Denford usually paint over the stickers so i was lucky a chap on the Denford forum made a passing comment to another one of my questions with the motor type, i think they might of forgot to paint over his stepper motors stickers by chance.
My Father found the tech spec of the MAE stepper motors, they are legacy and don't come up on google searches with much relevant information, I've attached the document. The Mirac's stepper motors are on page 8 and page 14 for future reference. Page 14 is the important one with the colour codes of the wires.
Hopefully that helps the next guy, took me weeks to find that information.

I've not forgotten about doing a write up about this turret, i'm just making sure i've got it all worked out before hand.
Hi Tom,
I've just recently acquired a MIRAC in fantastic condition but the PC was replaced and I do not have the license file for the Denford VR Turning software. Denford wants almost $450 for the license file and the issue I have is that I have no idea if the PC is even communicating or set up to talk to the original Denford motion controls so I might spend that money and still have a very expensive paperweight.
As a result I am weighing my options before purchasing the license and very seriously considering just retrofitting with an Acorn. Was wondering if you were able to provide a high level description of what new components were required for your retrofit outside of the Acorn board itself. I know you mentioned also keeping the original stepper motors but did you need new drives for them? anything else? Your insight is much appreciated as I try to figure out the best path forward with my machine!
P.S. would love to see your YouTube videos if they are still available, or perhaps an updated one of the machine running? There are some Denford lathes running Mach 3 on YouTube but I didn't see a single one running centroid.
