Re: New User, Cant jog motor
Ok thanks. I will read the bulletin and start there. There is no error warning when I connect the software to the board, so its odd that it shows a communication error in the log. But again, I will check.
Yes, I have an e-stop switch wired and when I press it, i get an e-stop message.

You'll get the error message for the ethernet COM issues in the same "message window" where you get the e-stop message. Have a look at your error log and you'll see them all.Barley65cm wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 12:10 pm Ok thanks. I will read the bulletin and start there. Re: New User, Cant jog motor
I doubt the drivers are not working because of com errors.

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
I went through the video on what to disable on this dedicated laptop before I started. I have also ran the "PC setup" program that configures everything. And there is no notification that anything is wrong when CNC12 connects to the board.
Which file is the error report? I would also like to be able to read it. Thanks

Inside the report zip file is yet another zip file: urf.zip. the msg_log.txt file is in that second zip file.
You can also view the log file by pressing F7 Utility/F9 Logs.

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
OK, please tell me if I'm an idiot (please, i have thick skin lol) PDF S15147 shows Driver one Pulse + connected to Direction 1 on the board. And Dir + to Step 1 on the board. As I was taking pics to post here, I thought "Shouldnt the two Directions be connected"?? I reversed the wires and now the motor if jogging.
So can anyone clarify this so I can continue with my build?

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
Of course not but if you look at his error log it's hard to imagine anything works with the amount of errors in it. I suggested he start and fix this issue first as he'll be chasing his tail with all those COM errors later.

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
Nope, you are not an idiot, there's an error in the schematic. Good catch.Barley65cm wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 1:18 pm OK, please tell me if I'm an idiot (please, i have thick skin lol) PDF S15147 shows Driver one Pulse + connected to Direction 1 on the board. Now that you have ONE drive working, add just ONE more and test and once that's working then add the last one. Do ONE at a time so you can catch errors more easily.

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
lol Thank God. And yeah thats the plan. I want to test each motor and all the soldering of plugs one at a time before I start the work.
Thanks for the help. I'll be back
