Re: New User, Cant jog motor
the report is several files in a zip folder. How do I post it here?

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
Yes, was actually just checking that. Both are Off. I have a tiny bit of life. When I hit a jog button I hear a 1 second sound that sounds like movement, but the gear doesnt spin. And it takes a few second to be able to repeat. So there is certainly a signal getting to the motor

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
When you are attempting to jog, are you in continuous or incremental mode? If you are in incremental X1 or X10 you might not see the small movement of the motor.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
Check the stepper power cable, I had a case the colors mixed up

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
I get the same thing in Incr/cont mode
Uwe, are you talking about my stepper wires? Its a 4 wire and they are not labeled. I identified the coil pairs with continuity and have switched them around (keeping the coils together)
I tested this motor, but i am going to try to find another one. I feel like this is a simple issue and im overlooking something

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
Yes the 4 stepper wires.
You can also try in the advanced axis configuration to inverse step / dir signals

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
Just attach the single .zip file to your post. We need the entire .zip file. There's a box below the box you are typing in and there's a tab that says "attachments". Click that and add the .zip file.Barley65cm wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 5:01 pm the report is several files in a zip folder. How do I post it here?

Re: New User, Cant jog motor
Thanks for the report. You first need to find the source of your noise. You have a ton of COM issues. Your error log reads-
"452 Ethernet Communication Error, CNCPC to controller. See Tech Bulletin 270, "How to Solve Communication Errors"
more times than I can count. There's no way this machine will ever function until you fix this issue. Please start a Google album and share a link here. We need to see your wiring and how you have the drives connected.
Do you have an e-stop switch wired up? Is it functioning properly?
After that, are you homing the machine when you first start up? Even simple home. Are you seeing dashes in the DRO or are you seeing numbers? If numbers, do the numbers increase and decrease when your press buttons on the VCP?
We still need more info but your error log does not have one instance of normal operation, it's all errors of COM issues and PC resends.
