M7 misters are usually solenoids :-) but you could use it for anything that needs an output relay contact open/close.

Windows 7 is not compatible with CNC12. CNC12 uses features of Win 10/11 that don't exist in win 7.

buy yourself a new PC here is a good one at a great price. https://amzn.to/3BH8xE8
run the Centroid CNC PC Tuner (free download here)

I'm not familiar with how coolant systems are typically set up but looking at Acorn Wizard PLC seems to imply separate pumps or a way to divert coolant to one or both. Depending on your setup, it might make sense to use additional external relays to engage the pumps or do additional switching when the canned Flood and Mist outputs are active.
I was looking at some misting kits and it seems the meta is to just have a separate reservoir that siphons with an air valve of some kind to turn it off and on. Burn that bridge when i get to it i guess. Lots to do before i have to worry about that.

I looked through the CNCPC requirements. I didn't see anything suggesting intel cpu's are required. Will AMD work as well?

I got a little bit accomplished on the mill. The CPU is an I3 6100 Which scores 2180 on single thread performance. I opted to move forward using that pc. The empire of dirt provided 16GB of ram, an SSD and an intel Dual nic. I had done a windows 10 upgrade from windows 7 on the original HDD. I let it run overnight and did a few windows updates. I did all that, so when i did a fresh install of windows 10 on the new SSD, Windows would see it as an existing system and windows would be genuine, from the original windows 7 product key. I wasn't sure it would work, but it did. I was then able to run the PC tuner and get cnc12 installed. I called it for the night there.

I discovered the lube pump took some damage at some point. The plastic reservoir and mounting tabs were broken and jb welded back together. I'm disappointed in myself for not noticing it when i was looking at the machine. The original pump is a 0-3 cc per 30 minute cycle without float switch. I was able to find a 3-6cc per 30 minute cycle with float switch. The original was set somewhere between 1 and 2 cc/cycle. Hopefully with the pump only running while running a job the increase in lubrication won't be excessive. The jb weld broke just from me removing the screws on the pecker head (not sure if that term applies to lube pumps. It has a motor, why not?). I dug into it with the hopes of figuring out enough about how it works to know if i could modify the new 3-6 pump to output less. that or combine them into some sort of frakin-pump.

I wanted to verify the G540 Was working before moving forward. I used Pete Rondeau's turn ratio settings from his youtube video. Here are a few Tik Tok videos of the first moves with the mill.

I think i managed to brick my acorn. I have CNC12 set to start on login. I fired up the pc and logged in with remote desktop to the other user account. When i went back to the pc and logged into the account with cnc12 installed, CNC12 was up with communication errors. I'm not sure exactly what happened but i'm getting all 4 LED's on the BBG blinking once every 6 seconds. I tried disconnecting everything, no joy. I even pulled the bbg and powered it by usb, no joy. I have the latest files from the website and watched marty's video on de-bricking. I'll give it a go when i'm down at the shop again.

I was able to debrick the acorn without too much fuss. The most painful part was waiting for the sd card to format, LOL. I couldn't help myself, I had to try to take some cuts.

I got a new lube pump and light tower in today. I'm really excited for this light tower. I hope it's as awesome as it looks. https://a.co/d/fH7LaEN
Guess it's time to get serious making a list of all the little doodads i need to get this enclosure built.

I think the next upgrade after that light tower is to make it a lava lamp

I was actually disappointed when i unboxed the light tower, Instead of clear with bubbles. it's frosted plastic. It's funny because i made the comment that it looks like a lava lamp.
