Post by FMC150 »

What servo motor and drive are you planning to use? Will this be the sole motor/drive for the spindle or will you be switching from a velocity mode drive to position mode drive?

Is this related to your previous question about a Leadshine ES-DH2306 drive?

Bonsoir.

So, you intend to use that drive for the spindle in regular turning and as C axis? I do not see how it can use a velocity control mode with only step and direction inputs.

That drive would be more suitable for use only for controlling C axis. This would require a clutch or other way of disconnecting the ES2-MH342200 motor from the spindle when using speed control. Uwe used a clutch on his lathe (see here) and he may be able to chime in with further advice.

That is only a stepper with 6Nm at 1500 rpm. Not a good one for a spindle.

Acorn can use a spindle only with 0-10V, so you must use a Step generator to convert 0-10V in to steps...

It is better to use a +2.6 kw servo and switch it from velocity to position mode for C-Axis, or a smaller servo and a stepper or small servo with gear reduction and a clutch to drive the C Axis.

Uwe

Bonjour.
