Z-axis error <resolved>
Hi,
I just installed the latest version of CNC12, V12.52. When I went to run a spoilboard surfacing program I received "z-axis travel exceeded". It is the same program I ran earlier in the day with V12.5. Not sure what is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Z-axis error
Your work coordinate and machine coordinate for the Z axis are both 0.0000. Looks like you may not have set your WCS #1 Z axis location before starting the file. It's exceeding the travel when attempting to apply the tool length. If it didn't happen there, it would happen on lines 34 and 35 too.

Re: Z-axis error
I homed the machine, moved it to the centre of the machine, set xy to zero. Then started the program. I am using CHIPS, the program terminated before the tool touch off process. It has worked before, so not sure.

Re: Z-axis error
Are you using the latest version of CHIPS 2.2 for CNC12 5.2?

Re: Z-axis error
You have not measured the offset for tool 1
Parameter 3 is set to 6 so the tool offsets must be a negative value.
With the same settings 5.1 or any older version will give you the same error.

Re: Z-axis error
To learn the basics of part and tool setup, the first place to look at is the manual ....
