But its only some twisted logic, there must be a way to figure it out.
In this case I can not help you, because my turret is in the future....
YOU are the one with a clue, I am the one that doesn't have ANY clue :D
But as the ATC files are widely used and even kind of "centroid feature" I hope someone here can help me out.

Pity, that i couldn't get it to work as expected just by myself with that manual, maybe I have been a little bit wide-eyed regarding the ATC part... It sounded that easy when watching the YouTube videos :D

After you figured out how it works, it is easy, as always

Too bad it didn't work out. If you read the PLC it is actually not to hard to understand. Just keep in mind the PLC only executes the stuff it needs based on the user parameters. Maybe you can look in there and figure out what is not working.

Hey guys,

with finishing the peripheral things of the Emco now step by step (keyboard-holder, All-in-one-PC-stand, mounting the emergency-stop at the right spot, cleaning up the control-cabin, replacing all of the air-wires and so on) the excuses for still not writing the concluding success-story are becoming less...^^

But i have some questions first:

Where should such a thread be posted? Here?
https://centroidcncforum.com/viewforum.php?f=57

Or, like some others did, here, and name is "New build: xxx"?
https://centroidcncforum.com/viewforum.php?f=60

And how detailed should it be? More a brief overview, or should i also dig a little bit deeper into some of the problems i have been confronted with at this build?

Thx, Marc

hi there i am just about to start wiring the turret on my emco 120, which wiring schematic did you follow when using the DB9 connector please?
thanks

Sure!

I used the s15006.r1 diagram with only one output für driving the turret.
ACORN_rev4, 4 BIT GRAY CODE TURRET LATHE, SINGLE TURRET OUTPUT, STANDARD CONNECTIONS

But what db9-connector? The turret connects the the inputs on H4, and the relay to the outputs on the relay-board?

Sorry for the 1 year delay in response, I’ve had a break from everything!
My setup has the db25 connector which is where my turret encoder is wired to, I’m really struggling to get the turret working, do you have any photos of your wiring for the encoder and for the relay used to drop the voltage as it locks the tool in please.
Many thanks

I can't tell you how to wire that thing to your db25 ;-)

As i said, i used the diagram s15006.r1, that is inside the folder \Centroid CNC\ATC-files_centroid_acorn_v460_lathe_universal\ATC Instructions\Lathe_Turret_Gray_Code_1_Output
That means, the outputs of the turret go to the Inputs In1-In4 of the H4-Inputs on the board, right next to the db25.
And the wiring of the turret-motor is the same as in the diagram.

I can take you pictures of the board and wires, but you won't be able to see anything beyond that, what the s15006.r1-diagram can tell you?
Indeed, you will see much less than that, because it's just cables^^

But as the turret encoder needs 24VDC to work, maybe that is your problem... The db25 is only 5VDC i think?
