v5.21 rev2 beta is now available for testing.

download here.

rev 2 Build notes.

- Added classes VB_[class] to the CentroidAPI to resolve ambiguity between the class and class instance that Visual Basic can't overcome.
- Added bit 4 (add 16) to parameter 113 to hide the Wizard button from the Utility menu (and all other buttons that may launch the wizard)
- Fixed bug where Z Clearance Height in Router Touch Plate menu would not convert between imperial and metric when changing units
- Updated Keyboard Jog Panel legend for Lathe
- Fixed bug where keyboard jogging is enabled, a command is entered and run in MDI, MDI is exited, and the keyboard jog panel is moved resulting in keyboard jogging no longer functioning
- Fixed bug where 410 Scale error would appear upon restart of software
- Lathe G99 moves without an encoder setup will issue a warning message
- Lathe parameter 48 is defaulted to 1 to make G98 the default mode
- Fixed some interactions between Keyboard Jogging and the MDI menu
- Fixed omission of the Scribe menu in the wizard
Just installed, no custom mods, but 410 error is still there.
With my PLC change to use MPG and WMPG together also.

The version I got from Andrew was nearly ok with default PLC

Now after software restart X is with a delay, then jumps, stops and the DRO is still counting for a few seconds
410 X error that can only be reset with power cycle.
No Error Code on Acorn Board.

I stopped testing at this point

Uwe

Uwe,

Have a few questions for you, we are having trouble replicating this.

1. Does this error ever occur if you dont move the X-Axis, say if you home then immediately leave the software and return?

2. Does the error occure if you never configure your Encoder MPG?

3. Was this an issue in V5.10?

And can you perform the following test, after you normally move the X-Axis and are in a spot that normally would produce the error. Can you take note of the DRO position, Then Go to Setup (F1) > Config (F3) > Mach. (F2) > Scales (F7), then Set the Enable of the scale to N, Then Save. Take note of the new DRO position (this would be the unadjusted position). Let us know what the difference or the two values are. You likely wont get the error after this point as the scale is disabled, can re-enable it and re-home.

Chris,

if I rehome first after a restart no error, same if I disable the scale and enable again. (scale is disabled while homing)
It occurs only after moving X.

I will test with MPG disabled and the other tests tomorrow.

I have made a non listed Video.

IMHO the scale is not the root cause of the problem, even with scale, MPG and WMPG disabled after a software restart it is possible to drive on the limit switch, because after the restart and first axis move the position is nok.
Software restart without rehome is not working

Appreciate the video Uwe, It helps a lot.

I wanted to mention when the VCP was not working, it was due to you starting CNC12 too fast after the shutdown. The VCP did not shutdown yet from the previous instance of CNC12. Though rare, can happen every now and then if the VCP takes a little longer than usual to shutdown after closing CNC12.

But onto the main issue,

I think you may be right about scale not being the issue, looking down the wrong path. After a couple more tries i got the WMPG to move past the software travel limits. In this state, it will move past both the Positive and negative sides, which is interesting. It does seem intermittent though, likely be a bit, but think that got us on the right track to resolving this.

v5.21 rev3 beta is now available for testing.

download link. www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_diy/downlo ... 23-x64.zip

- Fixed bug where jogging beyond travel limits after homing via M26 in MDI was possible
- Added some protection for startupOptions.ini to ignore blank lines and lines containing excess null terminators and other 'garbage'
- Fixed run menu resetting the part count upon entry. Part count will change upon interaction with the part count input box
- Acorn CNC12 Lathe M51 C-Axis requires an Ultimate license, any users with Acorn Lathe C axis and Pro license file will be grandfathered in contact CNCKeith
- CNC12: Fixed bug where cycle start wouldn't work in the run-resume menu if P400 was set to 0
- Plasma: Fixed bug where homing the THC axis (Z-Axis) via switches before homing any other axis, canceling out of the homing program, and rerunning the homing program resulted in an immediate axis travel limit exceeded error
- Added diagonal buttons to the keyboard jogging legend
- Oak/Allin1DC/MPU11: Fixed bug where park.mac would install over a custom park.mac (and other similar problems) when updating CNC12.

Not sure if
"- Added some protection for startupOptions.ini to ignore blank lines and lines containing excess null terminators and other 'garbage'"

was a direct result of my last post, but if so, and regardless, you guys are superstars and I am dumbfounded by the quality, responsiveness of the centroid team and product. Great job, and thank you.

thanks, yep you and a few others have reported that one. the fix in rev3 is a 'patch/workaround' while we are working on figuring out why this happens to some and not others.

R3 is now running on my lathe with Acorn6

Problems with errors after a software restart are solved even with my PLC to use the WMPG together with an MPG at the same time.

Support from Centroid is top!

I like the new printout of the Wizard since it was changed to print all pages vertical.
Better to read and faster to scroll.

I have updated the color profile for a better visible tool in the RTG and Messagebox.
