New AcornCNC and Connection of Box

New AcornCNC and Connection of Box
Hey There,
Um, if my bolts and machine screws holding the AcornCNC to the box are all metal and the box is metal, should I put some plastic somewhere in the middle?
Or, should I GND the AcornCNC to the box with a Bus Bar?

I just got why I was receiving negative feedback in the video with the loud resonate.
The machine is standard and not metric (mostly). So, when I set up the CNC12 source, I set it up to handle mm instead of inches. Blah...
Keen or just plain dumb on my part? Phht. No question. Silly on my part!

P.S. Off to change the CNC12 v5.x+ to handle standard instead of metric. AW! I thought that sound was unfamiliar.

that sound has nothing to to with metric or inch.
sounds like the stepper motor windings leads are not connected to the drive properly or other stepper related issues. you should review stepper motor basics here.

Okay. I will review it once more. I think you are right, i.e. as my motors are 2.8A and I do not quite have the correct resistor for the job...
I had 3k ohm only and the reference states that if it is over 3A, leave the resistor off. I am not quite sure how to interpret it right now.
I need a 2.8k ohm resistor is what I need. My resistor "franchise" keeps dwindling with the wind.
So, off to the online shop as usual. Hopefully, I can grab some 2.8k resistors for these motors.

P.S. Thank you for the links. I know what I did and how I went about it. I am cheating the ohm here basically by doing nothing but adding what does not need to be added but in reality, I am really under 200 ohms but faking it with the unneeded 3k resistor that serves no purpose.
I will venture online soon to get the correct hardware.

Also...after reading the /power-supply-basics/ link you posted, I am thinking about getting better acquainted with my motors.
So, 32 multiplied by the square root of milliHenries is what I need to solve and that is the maximum voltage allowed by my motors (I think).
usually, I do not mess with inductance but reverse polarity at the wrong time can cause issues is what I sort of understand...
1. How many windings does my motor have?
2. Can I get that windings ratio in the form of numbers from a datasheet?
3. If so, I will attempt to find out how many windings my "identical" motors have currently.

Okay...
So, 32 * the square root of 4.2 = 65.58
That is the maximum amount of voltage I can supply these motors. I have a 24v supply (switching) so that I can supply the drivers with enough current to handle a task.
The 24v supply has an amperage rating of 6.5A maximum.

That link will download a file from omc-stepperonline.com in .pdf format. It is the datasheet for my particular dual set of motors for the lathe.

P.S. Is having too much amperage frowned upon or is the 24v and 6.5A too much at 156W? It seems meek from what I have been used to in life. I mean, I have driven other machines with 75v at so many amps for one or two motors alone. Servos to be exact... Anyway, any clue is well worth my time!
(80,000 * I) / V = C
That equation is supposed to match me to a known good, reasonable cap. I may have actually, if the CNC12 does not auto engage the 0.9 degree stepper as so, use a resistor instead of a capacitor but I was sure from the G251 manual that I had to use a resistor.
