E-Stop Question: I am replacing my RichAuto controller with the Acorn. My E-Stop severs power to the cabinet - non-graceful- yet immediate stop to the gantry/spindle/controller.
I see the E-stop input is "required" on the Acorn. Is this some secondary E-stop? Shall I continue without adding an Acorn E-stop input. If the answer is no, then what do I input? The Laguna E-stop is an AC interrupter.
Note: The gantry has homing sensors, but no end of travel switches. Given some spare time in the future, that would be a nice addition and useful input to an e-stop electronic control.
Your "Estop Button" is not an estop, it is a power button, it just looks like an estop. A properly wired and working NC estop has a number of functions within the Centroid control system, I suggest you purchase one and put it to use.
The travel limits on the Centroid system are very good and using switches (sensors) to home only works very well. At least with closed loop steppers or servos that will report an out of position error, not so much with open loop steppers that are pushed beyond their capabilities.
Thanks for the feedback. See the attached schematic of the Estop schematic on my machine. It disrupts power from K1 (main system contactor) and kills mains, 24VDC, etc. There is no machine power when this NC switch is open per the schematic. What functions within the Centriod control system am I missing. Are you suggesting a secondary "Estop" that does not pull power from the Acorn? I'd rather have just one Estop and not have to consider which to push when I want a hard stop (using when things are going South fast).
Also, you mention homing sensors are fine when you have steppers with a closed loop system. That's a problem with this Laguna SS M2. The Yako motor drivers are open loop steppers. (No enable, just pulse and direction on each). Instead of adding limit switches, the proper fix is to swap the Yako's out for a closed loop system.

How do I assign SWx on the relay board to outputs such as raise the dust hood?
My outputs via the relay board (all NO) are:
SW1 = FWD1 on HETCO spindle control (spindle seems to run fine without this input)
SW2 = Raise Dust Hood
SW3 = Release tool
Input IN7 = dust hood up reed switch
I don't see where to assign these on the CNC12 Wizard, nor do I see how to map them to touch screen buttons.
There must be a video or training document on this. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Getting closer. Output 2 does not appear to be working so I've moved the DustfootActivate to Output 4. That is under control of the PLC Diagnostic as well as MDI commands. However, earlier I changed ATC to "NONE", and now I cannot seem to generate a new mfunc6.mac. Centriodcnc has been very helpful and looking into it.
Here are a couple pics of the CNC Router transformation (note: I also converted it from 3-phase to single phase.
