Yes, rear mounted turret. The tool centre line of the turret is fixed for drills and boring bars and can not be moved past the spindle centre line. This makes it impossible to probe a boring bar with a probe that is on the spindle centre line. This in turn requires a probe that is mounted at an offset (ie to the rear of the machine), at which point I found there were issues with the probing routines generating silly offsets.

As cncsnw remarks, the probing should be able to cope with this. I gave up trying to figure out what the issue was as I couldn't find any consistent offset or other pattern that would explain it or give me a workaround. I was hoping there would be some offset such as the probe tip diameter being wrongly applied but the problem seems more involved than that

I'm hoping that the Centroid team will revisit this at some point and rectify the issue. In the meantime, I have to use semi manual methods to determine tool offsets (skim cut, measure etc), which is a PITA.

I'd love to hear that Swissi has lathe probing in his sights but apparently he is fully focused on the wonderful CHIPS product for now.

There are some bugs for rear mount in the last version.

I am testing on and off center for both directions at the moment and it will be fixed soon.
