I just had to get this thread started to put some pressure on myself

Recently I acquired a very old but geometrically sound Weiler CNC with ancient Siemens controls.
As I am in the process of setting up a sort of community makerspace as a hobby, I need to be able to run this lathe asap as it's meant to pay a part of the rent

Long story short: Here I want to document the process of turning this old lathe first in to a rudimentary workhorse for simple parts, and maybe at a later point go all out with more powerful components.
As most Germans here we came from Austria to take over the... ehm, I meant to say we followed uwe (suntravel) here who did a tremendous job at showing the possibilities of the acorn controls to a German audience
