Shawn, I see you have the Shop Saber round mount. Did you configure both sensors for touch? How well does the ohmic sensor work?

Mine are configured only as breakaway only and wired in series. I use only ohmic for torch off and it's been working great. The only issues I have is when the tip get water in it every now and then. A quick manual torch fire dries it out and it's good to go. I keep my water level down now about an inch below the bottom of the material. My table has a Powermax 85 on it.

Shawn, I noticed in one of your videos that your proximity sensor lights are on during normal operation. Mine don't come on until they are triggered. What kind of sensors do you have? I have NPN NC sensors.

They are also NPN NC but I dont remember what brand they are. They came on the table from ShopSabre. I'll see if there is a label on them or a part number. Hey mark,
Looks like your Table is cutting very nicely in the last Facebook post I saw.
I was just looking back over your report and I see your resolution is still quite low.
The Gearboxes helped your overall turns ratio tremendously but the counts per rev is still at 1600. I wasn't able to find your drives. Any chance you can increase the step rate of the drives?
With low resolution it's best to not using smoothing for profiles less than 200 ipm.
Also you can try decreasing your Accel/decell time in the wizard for X and Y. The .5 default is quite slow and getting that down to .3 or below will help a lot with corner and Arc speed.

I am using a HobbyCNC 4 axis drive. I may be able to up the counts / rev up some but I will probability replace the drives though. I am trying to get the mechanics upgraded so I can get the Acorn THC.

You mentioned in a previous post that my resolution was really low. My drive will do 1/16 micro stepping but I haven't tried it yet. By my calculation my resolution should be 0.0004" per step. Am I calculation it correctly?

Gearbox 5:1
(inches / rev) / 5
3.14159 / 5 = 0.62832
OTR = 1 / 0.62832 = 1.59155
Commanded motion accuracy of the axes
Steps per Inch = (Steps per rev) X (Overall Turns Ratio)
Steps per Inch = 1600 * 1.59155 = 2546.48
motion accuracy = 1" / Steps per Inch
motion accuracy = 1 / 2546.48 = 0.0004

That looks about right.
You will have smoother motion with higher Step rates.
Most likely you can set your X and Y to 3200. That is better than 1600
You can only gain better motion with the higher step rate
There won't be any performance lose.
