Just to be clear, on page 6 in TB319 under Axes Pairing, it shows in the reverse direction box of the 4th axis as as yes. Should I set it up this way?

Thanks
Bill
No. do the reversing in the MSP software and select NO in the wizard for this selection if you are using software pairing. i'll update the tb to reflect this.

Thanks' again Keith.

I have one more question. You mentioned having the Clearpath power hub remain on logic power and not running thru the E-stop contactor. I'm using 2 75v Clearpath power supplies which are not connected to their power hub and are running thru a E-stop contactor. I will change the wiring as you suggested.

I have the power hub and didn't see the need to use it since there are two power supplies. Should I use the power hub or just stay with the way it's currently wired, but not thru the contactor?

Thanks
Bill

Read thru the Clearpath manual and will probably end up using the power hub and have the ac power run thru the e-stop contactor.

Thanks again for your help

Finished the set-up and found that the in the paired axis section of the wizard that the reverse option had to be selected as yes. I think it's because my router (Avid Pro Router) uses a rack & pinion drive and the motors are opposite each other, unlike the desktop version which uses ballscrews.
My mistake, should have been more specific on what type of machine I'm using

I am having trouble getting this setup and working, specifically the Y Axis. The homing routine works fine the issue is, that for some reason the Y axis motors become unpaired. The Axis paired button on the VCP shows that the Axis are paired and, in the wizard, shows Axis 4 & 2 as paired. If I cycle the Axis paired button the axis will pair again. The Y axis is wired for software pairing. The Machine is an Avid CNC Router with a Rack & Pinion drive.

When I had this setup a couple of days ago it worked like it was supposed, then this started happening. In a previous post, I mentioned that the reverse direction button should be set to yes, at least that's what worked for me, but after this problem came up, I went back into the MSP software to set the direction of the motors and changed the yes to no in the wizard, same results.

I reached out to Teknic and was told that there are two options to control the rotation of the motors. Either the controller or in the MSP, not sure which is correct? Having done this both ways doesn't appear to make a difference.

Bill,
when using hard stop homing it is a requirement to get the motor turning the correct direction in the MSP software. once you have done that correctly. there will not be a need for the Wizard to flip the paired motor direction in the pairing menu. make sure this is set to NO if you have the flip done correctly in the MSP software.

DO not confuse the direction reverse in the pairing menu (shown above) with the main Axis direction reverse in the Axis config menu. shown below. Axis direction flips BOTH the paired motors at the same time to affect the Positive and Negative direction of the Machine itself.

Thanks Keith,

I set the motor direction in the MSP software and configured the settings in the wizard like you explained, the hard stop homing works fine.

After the homing routine finishes for some reason the Y axis motors unpair, and I have to use the axis pair button on the VCP to pair the axis.
There is no warning that the axis is no longer paired.

On a side note. The reset home function no longer works as well.
