AXIS setup AXIS 1- XYZ
Hallo guys
im having issue, right now my mill has horizontal frame , and in same setup i wan it use as lathe too ..
Problem is that i cant setup AXIS 1 as XYZ , AXIS 2 XYZ , AXIS 3 as XYZ
I have just two options Axis1 X or N , Axis2 Y or N , Axis3 as Z or N ... how can i change lables of axises ?
Can someone give me hint how to go around it ?
Thank you
Martin

Re: AXIS setup AXIS 1- XYZ
Why not wire the axis in XYZ order to 123 ?

Re: AXIS setup AXIS 1- XYZ
I have installed both softwares and want to buy lincenses but need to fix that to work proparly to best user experience without swapping wires...

Re: AXIS setup AXIS 1- XYZ
I,too, would have this as an enhancement request. I'd like to use my mill for turning but I don't want to have to swap the wiring each time

Re: AXIS setup AXIS 1- XYZ
I've had a traditional vertical mill before and used the vertical spindle as a lathe spindle, that time it was easy but soonest I wanted to use 4th axis as the lathe, yap swapping wires ... hopefully someone here I will have to walk around for us

Re: AXIS setup AXIS 1- XYZ
If the Acorn version of CNC12 supports Machine Parameters 300-303, then you should be able to reassign the drives in software.
E.g. for Mill:
P300 = 1 (mill X uses drive #1)
P301 = 2 (mill Y uses drive #2)
P302 = 3 (mill Z uses drive #3)
... and for Lathe:
P300 = 2 (lathe Z, which is axis #1, uses drive #2)
P301 = 1 (lathe X, which is axis #2, uses drive #1)
P302 = 3 (lathe Y, which could be axis #3, uses drive #3)
Try changing P300 and P301, and let us know whether it makes a difference. I am only familiar with using those parameters with the closed-loop controls, so I do not know whether they are supported with Acorn.

Re: AXIS setup AXIS 1- XYZ
Hi ,
Ive tried do that but with no luck . been changing parameters but after restart parameters are changed but moving of XYZ is still same
Why do acorn wont let me change those outputs ? or it is possible to change it in PLC ?

Re: AXIS setup AXIS 1- XYZ
So we can conclude that the drive-mapping parameters are not supported in Acorn; only in the closed-loop controls (Oak, Allin1DC, MPU11 etc.).
No, there is nothing you can change in the PLC program that would affect drive output mapping. The PLC program is not involved in that part of the control operation. It is inherent in CNC12.

Re: AXIS setup AXIS 1- XYZ
AcornSix supports drive mapping just like oak, all-in-one DC and Hickory
Regular acorn drive mapping is done at a very low level and in general is not parameter based or supported.
